As we move into the cooler months, you may start to see fewer bugs outside, making it seem like a “pest-free” time. You may think this is because cold temperatures kill most bugs, but they’ve evolved many different ways to survive and thrive until spring.
Most insects look for warm places to “overwinter,” a process where their bodies slow down and conserve energy, similar to hibernation. Outdoors, they might hide in mulch, under rocks or piles of leaves, or deep underground.
Unfortunately, your home is another warm place bugs could hide in. Many types of pests seek shelter in garages, attics, undisturbed closets, cabinets, or other storage areas. When temperatures warm up, they emerge and become active around the house!
To prevent insects from getting inside, seal up any cracks or holes around the house, keep trash and other debris cleaned up, and keep up with regular pest control treatments even in winter.

Pest control starts at $35 a month.
